Really, Team DE Mackinaw spends an inordinate amount of time yelling things at the TV screen like: "Close your mouth, Dean! I can't follow the plot!" There's probably a 12-step program we could join. We won't. Also, I make up lipstick names Dean wears which, of course, depends on episode, mood, and lighting: Coma Coral Pouty Pink Imperiled Rose Morning After Blush Bruised Berry There's lots more. And Sam doesn't get left out either, but I gotta head out.
It's been over a year since ball o' twine days! and yet, nothing finished! Sigh. Will console myself by watching Teh Pretty tonight...
Saving people, making creme brulee. maybe a nice baked alaska...
Back from our travels. Second, evening job completed yesterday. Going out to dinner to blow all that money earned on the second job. Have Storyline A and Storyline B plotted out, beginning to end. There's a very real possibility of Metallicar whumpage, so that all may hate us. Tomorrow, the real writing begins... Also, will have update on the Ball o' Twine, as I'm sure you are all wildly curious (plus pictures!)
OK, having completed our pilgrimage to the Big Ball of Twine (more on this later), an honorary member of Team!DE_Mackinaw gets a voicemail from some guy who says the following (rather shakily): "Hi, I'm in Newport visiting from Colorado, my number is 719.... I'm sorry, new phone, I'm nervous. Yeah, um. Call me." And apparently left the wrong number, because he called back with a corrected number: "I'm sorry, 719..." So, we thought of many clever but cruel responses and settled on the more humane text message of "Hey, got your message. Think you got the wrong number." He texts us back, "Sorry, my phone was lost and used all night." The mind reels with the possibilities. How fortunate his phone returned itself to him. Now we had to fuck with him a little. Team!DE_Mackinaw: How convenient! By the way, what are you wearing? Poor, dumb John: Huh? Team!DE_Mackinaw: Don't play dumb, naughty boy. What are you wearing out there in Newport? He chickened out, poor bastard. He could have text sex with four hot chix in Litchfield, Minnesota. Yes, we are perpetually sixteen.
It's upon us. Team DE Mackinaw is off to Darwin, Minnesota, where our Chevy Impala awaits to take us the world's largest ball of twine, and the festival it inspired... Life is good. In a fic update, b plot well on its developed way. Now ready to do the nitty gritty on the a plot. C'mon Big Ball o' Twine. Work your magic... I'm giddy with excitement.
Tue, Jul. 24th, 2007, 10:17 am Update
The first rule of the Heisenberg uncertainty principle is you don't talk about the Heisenberg uncertainty principle... so... not much writing getting done, but many ideas popping to the surface. cuh-razy busy. Anyhoo, Team DE_Mackinaw went ghost town hunting Sunday for the first time, so did the quick and easy stuff: China Camp and Lake Berryessa. Gorgeous weather this weekend, even so, China Camp was not over run -- must remember for when we want to dip our toes in salt water. Ocean Beach and the Bay are nearly always freezing cold...Took some photos, will try to post... Couldn't see Monticello, because it's under Lake Berryessa, but that was a long shot anyway. Planning a full-on weekend ghost town hunting trip for the last weekend of October, complete with off-road vehicle to get to those places without paved roads (whee!). Lot's o' abandoned mining camps/towns in N. CA. May throw in some Big Foot hunting as well (or at least stop by the museum.) Regret not taking pictures of all those ghost towns in So Cal and Nevada when we went through Death Valley last summer (on our way to Rachel/Area 51). But before all this: Big Ball of Twine Days in less than a month! We've rented an Impala. Big Ball of Twine. Grasshopper Ascension Chapel. World's Largest Statue of a Crow. This summer = cheestastic!
So, Grendel continues the tradition of having some serious health problem the third week of June, first Muay with her knee injury, Antonio's cancer, and now Grendel has a bladder stone. He seems to be responding well to treatment, but for pete's sake, always the same time of year! It's like cat conspiracy.
So, we rewatched Devil's Trap tonight and I was just wondering: do demon families get together with other demon families and have barbeques?
Sun, Jun. 17th, 2007, 10:20 pm I'm a genius!
and not at all prone to hyperbole or exaggeration! (read as: I've created and loaded an icon.) Now to finish/polish some fic!
Minkmix (I'll learn that whole livejournal naming/tagging thing soon) beat me to the pot-smokin' fic! I will eventually polish and post mine 'cuz it's different enough. Augh! I am not a unique and special snowflake! (dramatic sigh) ETA: I should mention that I liked her fic and I would post a link but I'm very tired and lazy and again, new to the whole formatting thing. The other half of de_mackinaw is much more tech savvy than I am, but alas, gone til tomorrow.
Thu, Jun. 14th, 2007, 10:35 pm test
I think I get it... hopefully I was just, ya know, cuh-razy earlier.
ETA: Yep, crazy. Now to rejoin!
Now I'm thinking that I wasn't posting to the communities that I just removed myself from, and that I was just skimming through my friends list too quickly. But I could have sworn that I was actually checking the community postings... I dunno. I didn't get chastised by moderators, yet. I'm a reasonably intelligent human being. Really. Honest. Sometimes, I'm even clever! But not tonight.
Thu, Jun. 14th, 2007, 09:51 pm oh good lord!
how did we manage to friend ourselves? Will ask co-conspirator for details when she returns home. oi.
Thu, Jun. 14th, 2007, 09:46 pm Mea Culpa
I'm an idiot. Signed up for communities, didn't realize my journal entries post there. Must have wrong settings. Will research and in the meantime, have left communities until I get my act together.
Thu, Jun. 14th, 2007, 09:10 pm Zodiac Fic
The Zodiac fic has been started. Won't be fully complete until after the Big Ball of Twine Days(oh, it's a real festival, and we are going!), because we have to do research, ya know, on the Big Ball of Twine.
Thu, Jun. 14th, 2007, 09:04 pm iPod woes
having a helluva time getting the new iPod fully synched(damn error -69! damn you to hell!) On the plus side: I can now watch Supernatural during my commute. contemplating an icon...
So, we're sitting around eating orange chicken and BRAINZZZ and decided we should really post something. This is what we know so far: we are 35% likely to survive a zombie apocalypse but we are 62% evil. Our chances of surviving the zombie apocalypse are better as zombies, therefore we both welcome our new zombie overlords. Now to friend the hell out of you unsuspecting folk and at some point beg for a beta.
